programs on the anniversary of
executions that occurred at Fort Smith in the 19th century. The programs will be held at the reconstructed gallows,

presented on the anniversary dates of executions carried out during the years that the federal court at Fort Smith had jurisdiction over Indian
Territory. Federal executions were conducted here for 23 years, from 1873 through 1896.  79 of the 86 men executed here were put to death during
Judge Isaac Parker`s tenure. The talks will provide a general overview of the federal court during the late 19th century, federal law involving capital
crimes, and conditions in Indian Territory.  Park rangers will present information about the condemned individual/s executed on that date.  The crime
and victims, court case, execution, and the violent nature of these historic events will be discussed.  The anniversary dates of executions are the
only times that the park hangs nooses on the gallows; the number of nooses represents the number executed on that day.

The Most Haunted Houses Tours - (202) 484-1565 - info@washingtonwalks.com -...."I know not how it was -- but, with the first glimpse of the
building, a sense of insufferable gloom pervaded my spirit,"  wrote Edgar Allan Poe, describing the home of Roderick Usher. Imagine the
observations Mr. Poe might have penned about the homes encountered on this walk and their various owners. Some, like the fictional house of
Usher, have disappeared into the fissures of history. Others stand as reminders of the often harrowing events that transpired within. President
Andrew Jackson, navy hero Stephen Decatur, man of letters Henry Adams and his wife Clover -- these are only a few of the famous Washingtonians
whose homes have tales to tell. You'll end this walk hearin about the house considered the most haunted home in the city: The Octagon. As you
hear the stories associated with each room, no doubt you'll agree, to quote Mr. Poe, that "evil things, in robes of sorrow, assailed the monarch's
high estate." )  Please note that this walk does not include interior visits to any of the buildings featured. Call or E-mail for dates and times.

Capital Hauntings Tours-  info@washingtonwalks.com - 202-484-1565 -  Violent quarrels, vicious attacks, murder, suicide -- why is it such turbulent
events in Washington DC history seem concentrated around the seven acres of Lafayette Park? During the day, it bustles with White House staff,
visitors and office workers. As evening descends, however, so does an almost tangible drape of stillness; it’s not hard to imagine the park’s inky
expanse of yesteryear. Indeed, it is the most haunted site in the city. How the ghosts and spirits came into being is the subject of this eerie
perambulation. You’ll hear the tale of a wayward, larger-than-life congressman from New York, his beautiful and very young wife, and the son of the
man who wrote “The Star-Spangled Banner;” of the night of April 14, 1865 and how the grim reaper stalked more than Abraham Lincoln; and how
the White House could be enshrouded by “the Presidential Circle of Death” And that is just the beginning. Please note that this walk does not
include interior tours of any the buildings featured. Call or E-mail for dates and times.

D.C. - Bad Olde Days Tours - (formerly Gangs of Washington) is a slice of 19th century Washington life that most guidebooks gloss over but we
found it fascinating. Take a walk on the wilder side of the 1800’s on our rollicking look at Washington City’s pickpockets, con men, “ladies” of ill
repute, mobs, murderers and of course, gangs! On this tour, led by a denizen of “Murder Bay”, you’ll hear the most astonishing yet true tales and
meet some of the “characters” that made this town notorious. Along the way you’ll learn some 19th century slang and maybe a card trick or two. A
portion of the proceeds  donated to the Washington Literacy Council. Society can overlook murder, adultery or swindling; it never forgives preaching
of a new gospel.  -- Edmund Burke . ~~~  mail@historicstrolls.com - 301-588-9255  ~~~

Things That Went Bump in the Night - email@spiesofwashingtontour.com - (703) 569-1875 in DC- Strange, mysterious, and intriguing events have

Theater come to "no good end"? --Why is the man who planned the design of Washington said to be still walking the halls of Congress? --What was
the "OJ Trial" of the 19th Century? --Why does the U.S. Army keep replacing a window pane that overlooks a tennis court? --Was it suicide or
murder? And why is the unmarked grave so famous? --What federal office building was decorated with the statues of convicted murderers? And why

Louisville- The Moonshine and Madness Tour- (502) 637-2922 - Step back in time for a tour of Americas grandest neighborhood in the Roaring
Twenties, a time when flappers, moon shiners and gangsters kept the city hopping with scandal and intrigue. Long before Las Vegas, Louisville
enjoyed the dubious reputation as America’s Sin City thanks to the decadence associated with its many distilleries, tobacco houses and horse
races. Drinking, smoking and gambling! These are the three vices that led to the development of today’s Old Louisville. Hardly surprising, ghostly
legends from its heyday live on. See where tobacco barons, thoroughbread owners and whiskey kings made their homes as an entertaining narrator
shows you the sites mentioned in the popular books written by local author David Domine. Learn how the Pink Palace got its colorful paint job, enjoy
a ghostly tale from a local performer and then discover the hidden charms of Floral Terrace, where a phantom from the Great Depression still
lingers in the shadows. Tour also includes Happy Balls!, homemade bourbon candy from Old Louisville, and entrance into a lovely local mansion.
