Arts presents “Sleuth” By Anthony Shaffer Directed by R Scott Ferris No one does "whodunits" better than the Brits! Best-selling
author of detective fiction and games-player Andrew Wyke, wanting to guarantee that his estranged wife remains absent, has invited her lover
over for an intriguing scheme to secure financial happiness with her. Or perhaps he merely wants to toy with him, revenging in a deadly game of
wits. What starts out as an innocuous round of captivating chat develops into an elaborate multi-layered match that involves complicated and
dark motives between two men where nothing is as it seems. Audiences and reviewers are asked not to reveal the plot to anyone who has not
yet seen the play or movie, for a great deal of the appeal and enjoyment of the play is derived from its spiraling plot twists.

Arts presents “Sleuth” October 29 - November 7 at The Festival Playhouse, 5665 Olde Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada. Performances are Fridays
and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2 p.m. with an Industry Night on Monday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 Friday and
Saturday, $13 on Sunday and $10 on Monday, Nov. 1. Call 720-876-8235 for reservations or online at www.TheMagicOfArts.com

Scott Ferris stars as Andrew Wyke with Artemus Martin as Milo Tindle and Cote Stratums as Inspector Doppler in this classic mystery thriller.

Winner of the 1971 Tony Award for Best Play, “Sleuth” is simply pure entertainment. It brings to the stage ornate and jousting language,
characters that are larger?than?life with some childish moments, riddles and rhymes. While engaging it induces laughter and terror. Shaffer said
the play was partially inspired by one of his friends, composer Stephen Sondheim, whose intense interest in games-playing is mirrored by the
character of Wyke. “Sleuth” had over 2,300 performances on London’s West End and opened on Broadway November 9, 1970 at the Music Box
Theatre where it ran for 1,222 performances.

Arts – An Artemus and Robert Theatrical Show R Scott Ferris and Artemus Martin shared a passion for magic and the arts. They incorporated
both so that each production produced would utilize some form of illusion. In 2008 the company, Arts, was formed and opened its doors for its
first production, The Tale of SWEENEY TODD. They casted a variety of people comprising of seasoned actors and people who showed talent;
yet had never performed. One such unknown, Zyah Danial, was cast in the lead female role as Mrs. Lovette and amazed the audience each
night with her flawless performance. Today the same efforts and ethics are used in each production they put to the stage, giving all performers
with talent and no experience a chance to act in quality productions. This year Arts starts its Second Anniversary with Sleuth. They hope to
continue to bring you quality shows for many years to come.

Ray Bradbury's........    Something Wicked This Way Comes!

                                                                                    At the Aurora Fox Theatre

                                                                       REGIONAL PREMIERE

Oct. 1st - Oct. 31st, 2010

Something Wicked This Way Comes - By Ray Bradbury (Regional Premiere) October 1 - October 31, 2010.

Ray Bradbury's stage adaptation of his best- selling novel analyzes the conflicting natures of good and evil. In this fantasy thriller, two 13-year-
old boys have a harrowing experience with a nightmarish traveling carnival that comes to their Midwestern town just in time for Halloween. The
carnival's leader is the mysterious "Mr. Dark" who bears a tattoo for each person he has lured into a deadly devotion to the circus. Mr. Dark's
malevolent presence is countered by that of Will's father, who fearlessly battles evil forces to save the souls of the impressionable teens.

Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes is an American Classic, that many of us remember fondly from reading it in school or from
seeing the movie. It is also an intriguing tale with surprising depth.

Even though Mr. Bradbury himself adapted his novel for the stage, when the Aurora Fox team set out to produce the show, we found ourselves
running into some questions we could not answer simply by reading either the novel or the script. So we decided to go ask Mr. Bradbury himself.
He was gracious enough to visit with us and answer our questions.  And he has given this production his full and formal blessing.

This is only the 3rd time this show has ever been produced live, and as far as we know, the only time it has been produced with the
full technical elements that Mr. Bradbury envisioned as he wrote the story.

In true Bradbury fashion his comments ranged from very specific descriptions about what certain characters were thinking or doing in a specific
moment to a simple “I don’t know, you will figure it out” related to other moments and challenges. Of course he also had plenty of other colorful
and intriguing things to say.

**** Stay tuned to
this page for video footage of our meeting with Mr. Bradbury and behind the scenes peeks into the making of this exciting
piece of theatre!

Meet the Spirits at Boulder's Columbia Cemetery!

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

Historic Boulder’s biennial Meet the Spirits will be held on Sunday, October 17 from noon until 5:00 p.m. at Columbia Cemetery on Ninth and
Pleasant Streets on University Hill. Come and meet some of Boulder’s most dearly departed! Mary Rippon, Tom Horn, Eben Fine, “Rocky
Mountain Joe”, and several Ladies of the Evening are just a few of the costumed “spirits” who will rise from their graves in Columbia Cemetery for
just one afternoon to tell their stories.

Get into the Halloween spirit with Victorian mourners, funereal music, and a vintage re-enactment of a solemn Masonic burial service by
members of Columbia Lodge #14.

Established in 1870, Columbia Cemetery was the first permanent burial ground in Boulder. It is a virtual “Who’s Who” of early Boulder containing
the remains for many of the city’s founders and pioneers. Columbia Cemetery is the final resting place for early Boulder merchants, educators,
ranchers, tavern owners, miners, farmers, and politicians.

In the event of rain/snow Meet the Spirits will be rescheduled for Sunday, October 24 from noon to 5 p.m.

This fun and educational event is sponsored by Historic Boulder, Inc. and the city of Boulder Parks and Recreation Department with proceeds to
benefit Columbia Cemetery and Historic Boulder. Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for seniors and children 16 and younger.  Tickets may be
purchased in advance at the Historic Boulder office, 1123 Spruce Street, or on the day of the tour at the Columbia Cemetery gate. You may also

Murder Mystery
Come join us, high in the Rocky Mountains, at the historic Bluebird Lodge built in 1872; for an evening of mystery and suspense. A limit of thirty
guests insures a very intimate and unusual theatrical experience. Begin with a champagne reception, surrounded by characters from the past
with stories to tell and secrets to divulge (or withhold). Later, in the dining room, keep your eyes and ears open as you enjoy a meal prepared by
the famous Gold Hill Inn. You just may be sitting next to a "killer." You and your team-mates will survey the scene of a crime, look for clues and
interrogate suspects. Solve the mystery over dessert and win a prize. Unwind next door at the Inn, gaze at the stars, or go to bed in the rustic
lodge, happy to have survived the evening... At last the mystery is over, or is it? Was that creaking on the stairs just an old building settling, or
was it the ghost of Eugene Field, or some other ethereal denizen of the old mining town? Look if you dare, or pull up the covers a little higher
and dream of days long gone, but not forgotten.

The Final Rising of Our Founding Families

By Alsina Dearheimer

Well, my friends, our season has ended.  It is getting too cold for our old bodies to make the long trip up for our monthly meetings, so our last
one will be this Saturday, October 23.  For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m referring to the Cemetery Tour at Mount Olivet
Cemetery.  Every month, from June to September some of the first families of Buena Vista and I (the Mother of Buena Vista) come back to see
how the town looks and to tell anyone who will listen about how life was back in the “good ole days.”

We decided to make a special trip up this month.  We’ll meet you at 8:00 p.m., after it’s dark.  We will all have lanterns so that you can see us
and we will tell you all about our wonderful lives back when Buena Vista was a new township.  We have some really fun stories to tell you. Like
the time Martha and I got into a bit of an argument… O, we’ll tell you about that on Saturday.

Join us for the Haunted History Tour.  All proceeds benefit Buena Vista Heritage Museum.  Tickets will be $5 for adults and $2 for students. (We
suggest only 12 and up attend as we don’t want to frighten any children with the darkness and lanterns.  This is not a scary tour in the least, but
we still don’t want any problems. )

This is a once in a lifetime deal (yours, not ours.  Our lifetimes are already over.).  We usually we tour by daylight and don’t use lanterns.

Come hear about the naming of Buena Vista, how one man lived through a bear attack, and why you should never trust canned spinach.  We
hope to see you October 23, at 8 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Just look for the lanterns!

Thank you, Alsina, for returning so late in the season.  I hope none of your friends get spooked haunting the cemetery after dark!

                                               Werewolves of Poverty Gulch......

......At the Butte Theatre & Opera House!

October 1st - October 31st, 2010

In the late 1890s, Cripple Creek is being overrun by a violent band of outlaws. Suddenly people start disappearing. Is it the outlaws, or
something much more sinister? This melodrama will be followed by an all new Halloween Olio.

Tickets: Adult $15.75; Senior $13.75; Children $9.75;  Groups of 20+ $12.75 each.

Set in turn-of-the-century Cripple Creek, this all-new Melodrama tells the story of a timid physician who must summon the courage to finally
become a hero.

Set against the political turmoil of Gold Rush Colorado, Cripple Creek is being torn apart by a group of villainous highwaymen.  As the good
doctor and a local barman close in on the case, an even greater mystery appears;  the doctor finds himself treating more and more patients
who were victims of vicious wolf attacks.  Are the two cases somehow mysteriously entwined?

Have the outlaws struck again, or is it something much more sinister?

With a tragic love story, songs, dance, murder and mayhem, The Werewolves of Poverty Gulch is a Halloween treat for the entire family.  The
fall Melodrama will be followed by an all-new Halloween Olio.  Author Chris Sorensen has written several original works for the Butte stage
over the years, including A Cripple Creek Christmas Carol,  Dr. Jekyll's Medicine Show, and Angel of the Christmas Mine.

The Annual Haunts of Littleton Walking Tour ~ 2010!

The Haunts of Littleton Walking Tour VIII

Join us for an evening of ghosts, nervous laughter and tongue-in-cheek tales. Two of Littleton's favorite sons, Brian Vogt (CEO of Denver
Botanic Gardens) and John Brackney (President & CEO of the South Metro Chamber) are the self-proclaimed "...protectors of all that is right
and good in the world" are the tour guides on this frightfully fun adventure.

You will learn of the tale of Alferd Packer, Littleton’s cannibal and of the spirits who Who knows what lurks behind closed doors...lurk in the old
Carnegie Library (now the Melting Pot) and why they are still there. There are the Ladies of the night who still look out of 2nd story windows and
the Littleton catacombs where strange sites are still to be seen. Fairies and phantoms can be seen in gardens and lurking around corners and
ghost trains rumbling through the night.

A great time will be had by young and old alike as you walk the streets and alleyways ever vigilant for the unexpected. Proceeds benefit Historic
Downtown Littleton projects to improve the visitor experience to the area.

The tours will begin in the parking lot at the Downtown Littleton Light Rail Station in front of Romancing the Bean and the 134 year old D&RG
Railroad Station. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the tour so all souls can be counted and informed of the risks (we've only lost 8 in our
previous excursions so your chances of survival are fairly good). Due to a shortage of really creepy ghosts and goblins, the Haunts will be held
for one night only: Saturday, October 23rd, 2010  at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

$13.00 per person over 13 ......... $2 for those 13 and under

Please RSVP for one of the Haunts below... We need to prepare the headstones...

It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of Miss Emma Crawford.

As most of you, her dear friends, know, in 1889 Emma came to Manitou in search of her
health. She was accompanied by her mother and her fiancé, Mr. William Hildebrand. It was
the young couple’s greatest desire that Emma, who suffered from consumption, would
benefit from Manitou’s healing waters and crisp mountain air. She partook of them both
abundantly and freely on her many walks in the area.

Emma rallied and was busily preparing for her wedding. Life was a blessing indeed. But
fate held a different card and the Reaper was not to leave with empty hands. Emma

Father Jean Baptist Francolon and his mother Marie have graciously offered to open their
magnificent home, Miramont, for Emma’s wake. Many of her friends that she had met on her
travels seeking better health are making plans to attend. Some of the more notable are
Dr. and Mrs. William Bell, Dr. and Mrs. Isaac Davis, and, of course, Father Francolon
and his mother, Madam Marie Francolon.

The cost of admission will grant you entrance into Miramont, viewing of Emma laid out in
the parlour in pure Victorian splendor, and a Victorian Wake, resplendent with a
generous Victorian buffet dinner and beverages in the Great Hall. Since this is sure to
be one of the year's most talked about events, make your credit card reservations early.

16th Annual Historic Manitou Springs Ghost Tours

Historic Manitou Springs Ghost Tours and Stories of Old Manitou Springs

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

The ghost tours have been part of the Emma Crawford Festival since the beginning of the event and have become a tradition for many residents
and visitors.

“We’ve had kids who have grown up with the Ghost Tours. It’s fun to see so many people come back every year and to share those memories.”
stated Deborah Harrison, President of Historic Manitou Springs.

The tours tell the stories of real people who died in remarkable ways in Manitou Springs and come back to visit on this one night each year.
Tours feature at least one new or different ghost each year.

The tours, approximately 45 minutes long, leave from the Manitou Springs Heritage Center (517 Manitou Avenue) starting at 6:30 p.m. and
tickets are available for tours leaving every 15 minutes until the last tour at 9:00 p.m.

Tickets will be on sale October 1st at the Manitou Springs Heritage Center (517 Manitou Avenue) for $10 adults and $5 children under 12.
(Historic Manitou members receive $2 off adult and $1 of children’s tickets). Advance tickets are recommended as the tours, particularly the
early ones, usually sell out.

Volunteers are needed to help with tour preparations and to “channel” the ghosts and spirit guides the night of the tour. Harrison noted there
are parts big and small for a variety of people to be able to participate in the tour. Anyone interested in “exercising” their dramatic talents are
encouraged to contact the Heritage Center by September 15th.

For information, to volunteer or to obtain tickets, contact the Manitou Springs Heritage Center at (719)685-1454 or (719)210-4303, email us at
manitouheritage@gmail.com, or come by 517 Manitou Avenue during regular hours of Wednesday-Sunday, 11am to 5 pm (with extended hours
until 7 pm. every Friday). The Heritage Center is operated by Historic Manitou Springs, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and the tour
proceeds will support operations and the building purchase fund. To find out more, please visit our website, www.manitouspringsheritagecenter.

Edgar Allan Poe:  A Characterization Presented by David Skipper
Friday, October 29th, 2010
6:30 p.m.
                                        “Dark Whispers of Genius”

David Skipper portrays Edgar Allan Poe, America’s premier Gothic poet, writer, literary scholar and critic. Join Poe on an unquiet voyage as he
takes you on a journey into the dark recesses of his creative writing process, and reminisces on early literary influences and experiences that
shaped him as a writer and poet. This presentation includes the recitation of some of Poe’s well-known and rare works such as Cask of
Amontillado and The Case of M. Valdemar. Reservations: $60.00 includes Castle Tour, Supper Buffet, Cash Bar, Performance, Dessert &
Coffee Reception with Mr. Skipper.

As a literary scholar, Mr. Skipper, in period costume, begins with a dramatic monologue - in character. He incorporates anecdotes about the
author’s life, literary influences and the creative writing process while weaving excerpts of the writer’s works into the program. He then takes
questions from the audience and answers them as the actual author might have done. During the final minutes of the program, Mr. Skipper steps
out of character and responds to questions as himself.

The Annual Coroners Ball has, unfortunately, bitten the dust.......

FUNDRAISING: Silverthorne Coroner's Ball gets axed

Due to the lack of interest the coroner's office will no longer host the Coroner's Ball. Unfortunately funds for burial assistance & grief counseling
are almost depleted. This is due to the fact that some families have not chosen to reimburse the fund once their insurance has paid, making it
harder for everyone. There is a huge need for these funds, especially in these financial times but we cannot continue this assistance in good
faith when others' do not.
